Through the week
Not extras. Part of the timetable.
Art, games and speaking periods are scheduled like any other subject. A child who dreads mathematics still has somewhere in the week to be good at something.
Dance
Group and solo pieces prepared through the year and performed at the annual function and on festival days.
Music & singing
Prayer, patriotic songs and group singing, with students taking turns to lead at the morning assembly.
Sports & games
Athletics, relays, races and team games on the open ground, building up to the annual sports meet.
Yoga
Simple asanas and breathing practice, taught in short sessions the children can repeat at home.
Storytelling
Listening to stories and then telling them back — the fastest route to vocabulary and confidence in the early years.
Public speaking
Recitation, thought-for-the-day and short speeches at the assembly, so every child faces an audience more than once a year.
Competitions
Inter-class drawing, handwriting, quiz, fancy dress and recitation contests held through the session.
Celebrations
Independence Day, Republic Day, Diwali, Holi, Teachers' Day, Children's Day and Janmashtami marked with the whole school together.
Annual sports meet
A whole day on the open ground.
Once a year the entire school — from the smallest Playway child to Class 8 — moves to the ground for a full day of track events, relays and team games.
- Age-group races so the little ones compete against their own size
- Relays, tug of war and team events organised house-wise
- Fun races for parents on the same day
- Medals and certificates awarded on the ground
Educational trips
Lessons that leave the building.
Class outings are planned around what the children are studying — a park, a monument, a place of work — with teachers accompanying every group and a fixed adult-to-child ratio.
- Written parental consent taken before every trip
- Teachers travel with the students throughout
- Class discussion and written work follow the visit
